The passion for health and wellness started in my early years of career as a professional nurse when I lost my first child at 34 weeks of pregnancy through a condition called Pregnancy Induced Hypertension (PIH) also known as Preeclampsia. As much as I was devastated, I also became curious to know what I could have done better to avoid the occurrence. I did lots of research and discovered that a healthy lifestyle could have been the solution. I started studying about nutrition and what to do to have blood pressure under control, and implemented the interventions in my personal life. The actions adopted were effective. I started exercising, coupled with eating healthy foods. During that period, I was taken off my chronic medication. In my journey as a professional nurse, I discovered that I felt fulfilled and had passion to educate the people living with diabetes, prediabetes and other conditions such as high blood pressure and high cholesterol. In one of my previous jobs, I was offered the opportunity to learn more about disease management and became a diabetes educator.
Moving from one company to the other never gave me job satisfaction, I was miserable, frustrated, demotivated and grumpy, not enjoying what I was doing and that made me realise that was just the right time to do something about myself. I felt I was just collecting a pay cheque but not impacting the lives of the people who needed me to educate, encourage and support them.
I then searched for a reputable health coaching academy and found one which exceeded my expectations, the rest is history.
I am now in the better space of my life, I love what I am doing i.e., Health Coaching- to encourage, to educate, to support and accountability. Most people know that their lives need transformation, but they are unable to reach their goals in the absence of a Health Coach- an accountability partner. For this reason, I am available for my clients who want to transform and get their lives back.
It brings joy to my heart to see people's lives being transformed for the better and getting their lives back'.
